What is METROLOGY?
Metrology is the scientific study of measurement, dealing with the theoretical and practical aspects of measurement units and standards.
What is the New Hampshire Metrology Lab?
The New Hampshire Metrology Laboratory is the custodian of the official mass, volume and length standards for the State of New Hampshire and provides world class level calibration services to the legal weights & measures community and to both the public & private sectors. Calibrations provided by the lab are traceable to the national standards maintained by the United States Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
The New Hampshire Metrology Laboratory maintains ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation through the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP Lab Code: 200649-0).
Mass calibrations are available in echelon levels I (extra fine accuracy), II (fine accuracy), and III (medium accuracy). Volume calibrations are available in echelon levels I (gravimetric) and II (volume transfer).
